Travelers Inn of Brunswick, Maine, is a nice play to stay. We offer amenities like a computer and printer on-site as well as a complimentary continental breakfast each morning and coin-operated laundry options. Many people stay here when visiting Maine to go shopping at the Freeport Outlet Shops (and LL Bean) or when they’re on an adventure to see the gorgeous beaches of the Maine coast nearby.
That said, what are some things you should pack when staying in a hotel like ours? For starters, consider clothing. Depending on the season you visit, you might want to bring a warm jacket, especially during the colder winter months. It’s a good idea to pack pajamas, underwear, socks, and a couple of outfits for either casual or formal occasions. For instance, if you’re in town for a wedding, bring formalwear with you, but if you’re in town just to hang out without any fancy place to go, shorts and t-shirts will work in the summertime… and a light jacket for the evenings when it might get chilly.
If you want to make your hotel room feel like home then bring comfort items from home. You can bring things like your favorite bathrobe, slippers, or even a pillow you “love so much.” Kids often bring with them their favorite stuffed animals. For those with sleep apnea, bring your CPAP machine(s) and distilled water. Also, if you’re on any medications, be sure not to leave home without them.
Many people these days spend much of their time on laptops, tablets or their smartphones, so bring yours to a hotel and make sure you remember the power cord to plug it in and recharge it overnight. If your laptop has a DVD player, bring some movies with you. Of course, there’s always the old-fashioned but never out of style idea of bringing a good book to read. And if you want to catch up on “The Good Book,” look for a Bible in the drawer beside your bed at most hotels.
Finally, you’ll want to bring toiletries with you, as well as grooming products you like to use. These items can include hairspray, nail clippers, contact lens solution, deodorant, and, of course, a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Do your best to pack enough that you’ll be comfortable, and if you forget something ask at the front desk– either we’ll have that item to lend/give you or we can direct you to nearby stores.
